Major Moscow's Strikes Cut Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while local people in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and encountered problems to water supplies, as stated by municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while officials has demanded "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," he wrote in a social media post.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen missiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and residential structures in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and multiple civilians were hurt.

The attacks come after nights of bombing campaigns in the region, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to identify.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting gas facilities.

He said energy workers and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
